Cruise from Long Beach Los Angeles

long beach cruise to mexico

Mexico’s wild west coast offers just as much natural beauty, vibrant culture and sun-kissed adventures as its eastern counterpart, the Riviera Maya. Cruise from Los Angeles onboard the Amplified Navigator of the Seas® to Baja’s brightest jewels, like foodie-favorite Ensenada, fun-loving Cabo, charming Mazatlán and scenic Puerto Vallarta. Our Princess fleet includes ships that offer a multitude of amenities and feature the innovative MedallionClass™ experience.

Day 1: Long Beach (Los Angeles)

Cruise to La Paz and visit a pottery factory, or head downtown to shop for artisan gifts — like hand-crafted jewelry, woven gifts and decorations. Tour a coffee plantation in Puerto Vallarta, and enjoy a prepared lunch on the grounds. Or spend a full day exploring Colima, a short drive from Manzanillo, where 200-year old ruins of the Pyramids of La Campana whisper secrets of times past. Sabroso means delicious, which is synonymous with Mexico's cuisine.

Beaches by day and celebrations by night on cruises to Cabo

Not to mention the world-class cuts at Nick & Nora's Steakhouse. Revel in white-sand beaches, fun and adventure on a cruise to Cabo. From coffee and salsa to spirits and artisan goods, discover the best things to buy in Mexico cruise ports when you sail with Princess. Experience the country’s unique character the second you step on the ship with traditional Mexican cuisine, events and activities.

EXPLORER'S SPIRIT

Uncover the ultimate jungle tours and adventure traveling experiences throughout the Caribbean and South America. Mexico is a kaleidoscope of unique regional cuisines, all equally flavor-packed. Mexico's sprawling urban areas show you the lively side of this rich country. Power’s strong performance came after his Saturday morning practice session was truncated by two slaps of the Turn 8 wall. Power won two NTT P1 Awards last season – both on the oval at Iowa Speedway – to increase his career total to 70. Snap a pic of the Hollywood sign, stroll down the Sunset Strip and the Hollywood Walk of Fame, or visit Paramount Studios.

Cruise to Mexico and find everything from volcanoes, jungles and deserts and beaches, to enjoy outdoor and urban adventures of all kinds. Head to  museums to see the surreal works of Frida Kahlo and ancient artworks excavated from the Maya civilization. And be sure to immerse yourself in the colonial architecture, bustling parks and lively, spice-fragrant marketplaces in Mexico City, Puebla, and Cancun. As international and unique as its residents, the cuisine in Los Angeles is an experience all of its own. Indulge your sweet tooth with unique ice cream flavors like chocolate caramel potato chip cupcake at Salt and Straw. Or head to high-end Nobu for classic sushi or new-school tuna sashimi tacos — it doesn't get more LA than that.

Day 2: Fun Day at Sea

Ensenada, Mexico is one of the top-rated stops on cruises from Los Angeles to Mexico — and once you’re there, it’s no surprise why. This vibrant city is one of the brightest jewels of the Baja coast. On a Cabo cruise with Princess, bring your wildest vacation dreams to life. From colonial towns to colorful beaches, savor the best of Mexico. Discover rich heritage and bright flavors on a Mexico cruise. Swim your way to seclusion at Puerto Vallarta's hidden beach, Playa del Amor.

Perfect Puerto Vallarta Day Trips

You can see all of these and more on the Grand City Tour by StarLine Tours which operates two times a day, seven days a week. The main pool area is one of the most popular spots on the cruise during the day. There are lots of spots in both sun and shade to relax and enjoy the views of the Pacific ocean. I’m sure if we did a longer cruise, there would be more family time, but with just three days my son opted to hang with the other teenagers on board. The teens in Club O2 hung out in the club room, went to onboard shows, the video arcade and met for meals. Our son had a great time and loved connecting with other teens and my husband and I found we were on our own for most of our cruise — having dinner on our own and enjoying many of the onboard shows.

A romantic, awe-inspiring lagoon awaits after navigating a natural rock cavern. Fried tortillas take a swim in spicy red salsa or refreshing green salsa for a savory dish commonly enjoyed during breakfast. In general, the weather is best between December and April — there's little rain, and the temperatures are very comfortable.

A huge thank you to Carnival Cruise Line for their generous hospitality. We enjoyed this cruise as professional bloggers, but as always, all opinions are our own. During our cruise, we had a bit of rain on day one and it was a tad chilly for the waterslides for us. Carnival has a waterpark called WaterWorks and it includes a twister waterslide, a double straight slide, two mini slides and a spray park.

For the kids, don't worry — there's three youth spaces where you can hang out with others your age, plus we've got real Zumbini™ classes for the even-littler ones.
